About
I've always been drawn to work that has a meaningful impact on people's daily lives. What excites me most about social care is the opportunity to help people do the things they love - whether that's getting out for a walk, creating art or just enjoying their hobbies with a helping hand. I'm genuinely curious about people and their stories, and I'd love to be able to devote time to supporting people to live fuller, happier lives in their own way. My background in education and learning support has taught me how to listen well, adapt to different communication styles and create space for people to feel safe and comfortable. I bring optimism, patience and a natural love of helping, and I think these qualities make me well-suited to supporting people as their social carer. I'm passionate about creativity and art. I've worked alongside art teachers running classes for adults and kids. I also have a background in education, particularly in maths - I love breaking things down and problem-solving. I've been tutoring for many years, which has given me lots of practice meeting people in their homes and building relationships. Through years of teaching and tutoring, I’ve learned to be a good listener and adapt my communication to help people feel safe to share their ideas. I've worked with students with learning difficulties, which has given me experience adapting to different personalities and needs. What motivates me most is being able to use my skills and capabilities to help people do the things that bring them joy and confidence.
