About

I love to give back to the community and help others. I am an active member within my church supporting our youth and help care for our elderly, whether it is providing meals, shopping, transportation or just being a friend. Most of my work life has always been in an office and now I am excited to do something I love and enjoy as well as rewarding and give back to help those to ensure they have a quality of life and care. I will be starting my certificate 3 in Individual support (aging and disability) on Monday 12 January 2026 for 6 months. I have personal experience with taking care of my elderly parents, cooking, cleaning, taking them to appointments and running errands, preparing meals, toilet, bathing and having conversations. I also have experience taking care of one of my daughters who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Taking her to her appointments such as chemo and radiation, being her support and helping her prepare for each day when she is not well. She is currently in remission. I have personal experience with taking care of my older sister who had Acquired brain injury and later in life had mental illness. I supported her with day to day living such as finances, shopping, what outfits to pick and wear, meal preparation and cooking. Also supporting her choices of social events and being her companion and I also help raise 4 of her 6 children. I am patient, can think on my feet and have common sense. I have great communication skills and a great listener. I am very friendly, caring, honest and reliable. I enjoy taking my dog to the park, going to church and being with my family and friends. Going to new places and I love cooking and going to new places and learning a new activity. I was born in the Cook Islands (can speak Tongareva almost fluently), grew up in NZ for 36 years and now reside in Brisbane as an Australian citizen. I love the Australian culture and I have experience working with all walks of life and have an understanding of different cultures through work, church and social activities.
