About

I was motivated to become a social carer because I genuinely enjoy helping people and making a positive difference in their daily lives. I find it rewarding to support individuals who may be vulnerable, in need of extra assistance, or after meaningful connections in their day to day lives, knowing that these small acts of care can improve someone’s overall well-being. I believe I would be good at this role because I am patient, empathetic, and reliable. I take the time to listen and understand people’s needs, working to find a solution that will best assist their needs. I am also calm under pressure, which helps me address challenging situations in a supportive and effective way, applying problem solving skills where necessary. I am passionate about helping others and always seek to assist others in whatever capacity I can. I have chosen a career in healthcare as it allows me to act on that passion every day. Some of my strongest skills include patience, flexibility, empathy, problem solving skills and being a good listener. In my spare time I enjoy exercise in numerous forms such as different sports like tennis or soccer, the gym, running and simple stretching and mobility exercises. I also love to do arts and crafts, and I always tend to have a project on the go. Some of my favourite activities are colouring, crochet or embroidery. I have experience working in an emergency department where I have gained experience with a variety of patients, aiming to provide them care and comfort in a time of vulnerability and discomfort. Additionally I have one on one experience mentoring an individual with down syndrome where I was able to develop a connection with them, recognise their needs and how to best support them when required.
