About me

My motivation to become a social carer is driven by profound passion for helping others. Right from the childhood, I have engaged in tasks to help others and therefore I decided to pursue a career that would enable me to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Currently I am an aged care worker and working with people warms my heart. I possess strong empathetic qualities that allow me to connect with clients on a personal level. Understanding their feelings, experiences, and challenges enables me to provide tailored support that meets their unique needs. I have just finished Bachelors of Nursing and through out my course work, I have been taught and stimulated to think critically. Therefore, I am a person who would utilise critical thinking to solve any problem and develop practical solutions. I am committed to lifelong learning and professional development. Staying informed about best practices, new methodologies, and emerging trends in social care allows me to provide the highest standard of support. So in a nutshell, my motivation to become a social carer stems from a deep-seated desire to help others and advocate for social justice. With my empathetic nature, strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, commitment to continuous learning, and collaborative spirit, I believe I am well-equipped to excel in this rewarding field. I look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of those I support while fostering a more inclusive community for all. As a carer, I am passionate about empowering individuals to take control over their own life and advocate for their rights and social justice. Personally speaking, my hobbies includes going out and meeting people. I believe everyone has a story to tell and it intrigues me. I am a very passionate listener and tend to learn new things from people. I enjoy social gatherings and enjoy social events. As I am myself from a very colourful cultural background (Indian), I love learning about new cultures and participating in traditional practices. This is one of the things that I love most about Melbourne "Its cultural diversity". This also makes me culturally competent as I am well aware of my own culture and cultural bias. Another most popular thing from my own culture is food and therefore I love to cook and try different types of foods. Although I am vegetarian, I love cooking for my friends and enjoy different cuisines. Just recently, I have been involved into fitness and it has just opened my mind to a different level of enlightenment about health and fitness. So, yes I am very mindful about healthy eating habits and encourage or try to educate people around me about the same (If they are willing). I am a part time carer in an aged care facility and have been working there from last one and a half year.
