About
I'm hoping my computer and tech skills can be used to assist others in need. I've volunteered at the local library helping with computer and phone skills and have assisted many elderly friends and neighbours with anything tech related. I've always prided on being able to simplify and patiently understand and explain tech to the most computer - illiterate! I like to observe someone's learning style, and break things down in a way that helps them understand, as well as encouraging them to be "behind the wheel" so they can internalise what I'm explaining. I also emphasise the mindset behind what we're trying to accomplish, rather than simply learning which button to push because that is always changing. Computing and tech for one. In my work, I do photography, videography (filming and editing), and graphics. I'm excited about the emergence of A.I, and how tech affects our lives. But I also love teaching and sharing what I learn. Other interests include, motorbike riding, cycling and fitness, portrait and glamour photography, trading on Facebook Marketplace and computer gaming! I've always been interested in computers since I was a kid in the 80's and volunteered on several occasions to help computer classes, including teaching teachers how to use the computer in high school! In adult life, I also volunteered for a few years at the local library to help people with computer and internet literacy, a couple of which became customers long afterwards, hiring me for computer and tech help. To this day I still regularly assist an elderly neighbour with his tech (computers, internet, phone, TV!) Through Like Family, I hope to have fun talking about computers, the internet, and even A.I.!
